The Natusch
The freshest fish is found on the coast. Right in the heart of Bremerhaven’s fishing harbor, just 200 meters from the auction halls, stands the proof—the Natusch Fishing Harbor Restaurant. One of the top destinations for foodies in Germany and known to connoisseurs simply as “the Natusch.” Here, no fish makes its way into the kitchen without first being scrutinized by the chef’s critical eye.
Since the summer of 2017, “Natusch” has been run by the third generation of the family, under the leadership of Kenneth Natusch-van Kesteren (who passed away in September 2022) and his wife Tanja.
The Natusch family are inevitably early risers; at seven in the morning, they bid at the auction halls to secure the best sole, turbot, monkfish, or limande, as well as salmon, redfish, ray, catfish, or shark for their guests.
Natusch is first and foremost committed to the rich variety of fish species from the northern seas—and, of course, all freshly caught! This is what underpins the excellent reputation of the Natusch Fishing Port Restaurant. Of course, delicious meat specialties are also available for you. But the Natusch family and their team demonstrate their commitment to outstanding cuisine not only at their own restaurant, but also at international trade shows and during seafood specialty weeks at renowned establishments throughout Europe.
Awards and medals are visible signs of their commitment to advancing the delicate art of seafood cuisine. Among the guests at this unique restaurant are sailors as well as discerning gourmets, many prominent figures from the worlds of business, politics, science, and culture, and state guests from many nations around the world. They all enjoy the unique ambiance and warm hospitality.
